Running an Issue-Based Campaign

  • Buffalo Commons Classroom 617 Main Street, Suite 300 Buffalo, NY, 14203 United States (map)

Learn the groundwork that is needed for successful advocacy and campaigns.

What does running an issue-based campaign mean? How do you do it successfully? What is your goal or theory of change? Who has the resources to make the change? Who are your targets and why? How do you build, mobilize and train a team?

Learn from three experienced WNY advocates--Jessica Bauer Walker, Executive Director, Community Health Worker Network of Buffalo, Andrea Ó Súilleabháin, Deputy Director pf PPG, and India Walton, Lead Organizer, Open Buffalo--on best practices of campaign strategy and how to set objectives. They will share about understanding your target audience, government officials, and other leaders; how to develop a media and outreach plan; and how to develop budgets and time-frames.

RSVP to buffalocommons@cornell.edu.
